Code of Conduct
The following rubric will be used to assess each student’s character development. As noted in the Handbook, students will only be recognized for certain awards if they have attained 85% or higher in their character development. It is the goal of PDP that each student has a Character/Behavior Development Plan each school year of which the student, parent, and teacher work together to achieve.
I. Punctuality
- Arrives to class and school activities on time
- Submits assignments, homework, projects on time
II. Appearance/Personal Care
- Wears complete uniform
- Is neat in appearance 3. Is clean in appearance
- Takes time after eating to clean self
- Changes clothes to appropriate activity (ex. Change shirt to play shirt after class)
- Takes care of School bag and personal belongings
III. Environmental Care
- * Doesn’t write on school or other’s property. (If done, must be cleaned or replaced by the student)
- * Doesn’t destroy school or other’s property (If done, must be fixed or replaced by the student)
- Keeps personal desk area clean
- Initiates keeping the classroom and school property clean
- Throws garbage in the appropriate trash container
- Doesn’t spit or urinate expect in the proper place (bathroom)
- Doesn’t throw stones the playground area 8. Doesn’t destroy landscaped plants.
IV. Honesty
- Submits an excuse letter to report reason of absence
- Doesn’t take school or classmates’ things without asking permission
- * Does not cheat
- * Gives an honest answer at all times.. Does not lie
- Plays games fairly and honestly
V. Respectful & Kindness
- Addresses teachers, parents, or any authority figure with correct title
- Is Polite, using words such as “please, thank you, your welcome, etc”
- Raises hand, says excuse me, or uses proper standard when wanting to talk.
- Does not interrupt others when talking.
- Does not talk foolishness, using foul words, discriminating comments, etc
- * Does not bully or pick a fight, using body actions or words to irritate another person
- Obeys and follows instruction of teacher or authority figure without complaint
- Is Kind to fellow classmates
- Initiates help to classmate when needed 10. Uses encouraging words to classmates
VI. Effort
- Speaks English during school hours
- Is responsible to bring all necessary material required for school activities
- Exhibits good examples that influence others
- Puts forth best effort in school
- Follows Directions
- Listens Attentively
- Stands, sings, recites properly during school activities
- Exhibits Self Control
- Takes Pride in work
- Uses appropriate voice control in particular situations. (ex. Inside vs. outside voice)
If students show behaviors contradicting the ones listed above,
then the following disciplinary procedures will conducted:
- Verbal Warning to the Student
- Written Warning to the Student to be returned and signed by the parent
- Teacher Conference with the Parent
- Teacher & Guidance Counselor Conference with the Parent and Student
- Work Detail or Assignments as agreed by the School and Parent
- If behavior cannot be reconciled, then the student will be advised to transfer or will be dismissed from PDP
Important Note: The above listed behaviors marked with * will automatically be subject to a Teacher Conference with Parent.
